Coming from doodling on a smaller scale I started to draw with paintstick circles on paper size 70 x 100 cm. The circles would overlap and I started to make variations on the pattern that appeared, using it as a plan, both literally and figuratively speaking. The shapes would become guitars or vases or any other object. I made endless variations with paintstick and used the shapes given through this process more freely. Almost like finding a way out of the plan/pattern and come to a vocabulary of my own. They also developed into more ‘cubist’like drawings, playing with the object and the space in between. The series ended when the drawings became more and more like paintings and I decided I wanted to retrieve drawing by starting to make paintings and drawings as separate processes.
